Red Card (virtual): the Ref for a hostile attitude

It is very hard to comment on that game, well to make it short: most of our players did not get to the pitch on time. The common excuse being: ‘blame it on Henrique’s GPS’.

I spent most of the time between being one the phone with the lost 3rd team, saying repeatedlly thank you to New Inn who had no problem waiting for us for as long as required and trying to keep a cool, educated and polite attitude towards a ref that was utterly hostile and arrogant.

Finally the ref called off the game 2 minutes before the arrival of the troops, took his money, refused to whistle the friendly New Inn very kindly proposed us to play because he was in a ‘hurry’ (ask New Inn about him sitting in the local ‘buvette’).

It was truly hard to keep cool and I was really shocked by that guy’s general attitude. I did not realize ABBSA league was as professional as FIFA or UEFA, I just thought this was an amateur league whose 1st aim was to promote a fair spirit between guys who want to chill out on a Saturday by just playing a game of football. But as a famous quote says: "C'est le règlement, Monsieur"

Once again thank you very much to New Inn for their fantastic spirit.
