After the great result of the 1st game, the aim was top build up on the victory on our home pitch. The weather was fantastic and the squad looked pretty strong at least on paper.

The game started 20 minutes late, due the late arrival of the other team but since we did not have an official ref we could not claim the forfeit. Some of the guys said that the opposition was strong and the taste of the defeat of last season were still present in some memories.

We played 4/4/2, the results shows that it was not the right thing to do. After 10mn both Maliki and Schierenbeck got miss leaded by the bound of long ball from opposition’s Keeper and the number 7 striker scored the first goal. Same mistake after 5 minute and we conceded the second goal.

A huge team effort was made, we put the pressure that paid off and we scored the 1st goal, Braun ddribbles, shoots rebounds off the keeper and Pellegry taped ball in.

We kept the pressure on and Pellegry obtained a penalty, unfortunately he was not able to concrete. Few minutes before half time we were back to score after a nice cross from Stege and a diving header from Lamarra.

The team talk was more to sort the mess in defense and some substitution made by Captain Maliki. Benning came on for Joneswho did an excellent work on the left side; Wehby to reinforce the defense came on for Stege and finally Vollbracht replacing Anderson.

We started the 2nd half and with the luck we had we conceded an easy Goal. Giuntimisjudged the height of the ball. As a direct impact the whole team dropped out, we lost all the confidence and man marking was impacted. The opposition scored 3 more goals. A penalty given by Lamarra, a header from a guy that we completely forgot and the final goal was after a shot touched the post and went straight to the net. Just before the final whistle we managed to score a 3rd goal with a Brazilian touch signed Braun.

They are quite few learning lessons from this game:

Giunti was stating that we need a game like this in a season, we had it, so let’s just make sure it is the last one
