In between, Zoltan realised before warm up, he had not totally recovered from injury. Diego found himself without a shirt, therefore had unfortunately to be transfered to the 4th. Good to keep in mind, there are only 13 shirts in the gold kit !

We were then down to 11 for warm up, as alan was still in the locker to fill in the pink sheet, supported by myself, pretty much doing f$%* all, but as a good captain, being there just in case (for example the pen may have run out of ink, you never know ... ).

Therefore, a total of 11 players for a proper warm up - assuming Dave did all the warm-up (which, we all know, he never really does. i guess i am just being jealous that Dave is still at an age when he does not have to worry about continuous ficelle-de-jambon injuries for not warming up properly...you'll see in 15 years, when you eventually get to 30, you ll remenber the old man's word.. ).

Any way, this did not prevent Dave from pairing very well with Dave. Both Dave creating a lot of chances, right from kick off. Although dave's finish was very impressive, a great share of the goals credit need to go to dave - amongst others - who constantly put some weight on their defensive line, and therefore created some space for dave to score twice in the first 10 minutes. Dave got an almost unanimous man of the match election. Thanks Dave for joining and feel free to come back any time.(well done Dave and dave ! Ed.)

But there were not only daves on the pitch. Arthur, together with his robust and consistant defense line reduced down to almost zero the number of clear chances for the other side. In fact, up to the half of the second half, one could have thought that the only way st georges could ever score a goal, would be with a penalty.

Well, I guess Simon thought that way too and was also so confident on our defense, that he thought they could do with a tiny bit more pressure... he was also keen on enjoying the good football displayed on the pitch from the side line, and so thought the referee. To be fair on Simon, the refere's must have been a close relative of a st george player to be that biaised throughout the game. But RBBFC was clear that even a biaised referee will just be secondary in the final result. Simon was right: with 9 players against 11, RBBFC handled quite well the resulting pressure in and on arthur's box, and managed to keep a well deserved 2-1 victory.

In this final sprint, which seem to last for ever, special thanks and congratulation to Paul, who came back on the pitch, despite a bloody knock-out on a corner (which i hope did not result in a broken nose), all that, in addition to an outstanding performance holding the fort all game long. I also need to mention the good performance of dani despite complicated first 5 minutes, as well as Remi and Nando's, who came into a complicated game, and merged in immediately.

Finally, beyond the slight bashing of mine shown in the above paragraphe on Simon, let me say his game was very solid. However, I can't help but mentioning the two un-believable free kicks he took in the first half... They probably landed on the ref's car, hence the ressentment shown during the rest of game.... Some O'gara spirit was definitely floating on Rozieres.
