After last week's festivities and echoes of the gambler still ringing in our heads, the best day of the week came round again as RBBFC1 took on 2nd place Ambiance Auderghem and looked to maintain their unbeaten record.

The pre-match speeches were kept short this week as the McGrath tag team told us to focus on playing nice football and working hard. The players understood the message and headed out for the warm up with the quiet confidence that we would get the right result should McGeehan and Lachia perform as well as they did in the club last week.

As the first half kicked off, it was clear that Ambiance were up for it and determined to be the team to take away the unbeaten title currently held by Rbbfc. Much like the unpredictable weather, RBBFC's passing hadn't quite clicked and possession was being lost all over the pitch. With few chances in the opening minutes, RBBFC finally managed to break the deadlock after 20mins of play.

Lethal Kellerman was launched down the left wing and managed to beat the defenders karate kick attempt to race through. As he made his way into the left side of the area, he saw Lamarra aided by his new aero dynamic Rickettesque hair cut making a darting run to the 2nd post and delivered a pin perfect pass to his feet. After some dodgy control and with the goal gaping, Lamarra managed to fool everyone and toe point the ball into the bottom corner. 0-1 to the Champions.

Despite taking the lead, Ambiance was determined to bounce back and was getting the better of the play. After some good work by the opposition down the right flank, they managed to get the ball into the box. Up went J. Mojena to challenge their striker but much like the penalty United were awarded vs Olympiakos in mid-week, he clattered into the back of their player and they ref gave the pen. The scene was set for our new 1st team stand in keeper Steve Williams to steal the show. Stevie had already tried to steal the show by kitting up in a bright yellow fluorescent shirt that Jorge Campos would have been proud of. The striker hit the penalty well and despite Stevie getting fingertips to it, he buried the ball to Williams aka Campos bottom right. 1-1.

After a half time berating from coach McGrath, the 2nd half was totally different story as RBBFC imposed their dominant style of play. With a marauding Maarten Billiet constantly destroying their left back, it was only a matter of time before this resulted in a goal. After another powerful run by Maarten down the right, he looked up and saw Lamarra on the edge of the area. A crisp pass well read by Laurent Legere who let it run through to Lamarra. After a first deft touch with his left, the ball fell nicely onto his right and with a delicious instep shot curled the ball into the top right corner. Ian Taylor would have been proud. 1-2.

The remainder of the match was played out with confidence as McGeehan lay deep in his favoured role on Saturdays, closing the space in midfield with Ricketts strong physical presence, Ambiance had no answer. A mention must go out to Sylvain Lachia who this Saturday managed to keep his hands to himself and delivered a clean performance.

The third goal was inevitably delivered by Thomas Kellerman who had valiantly tried to not score earlier but assisted well. As McGeehan and Lachia know well, you should leave the assists to Lamarra. After some decent work on the right, Kellerman cut inside and side footed nicely into the bottom right on the net. 1-3.

A deserved victory in the end as the baldy crew grew 1 stronger as does the legacy being left by the RBBFC1 team from 2013/14.
