And so it all began again…

After an incredible 2013-14 season, the question camping in everybody's head was: how can we beat that…? Because face it, last season was exceptional. RBBFC 1, knocked all its opponents K.O. by crowning itself champion 7 games before the end of the season and continued to be unbeaten throughout the whole season.

So luckily, in those dire moments when we are contemplating our future, we have a captain who has no problems raising the bar (ridiculously high). "One Hundred” will be the number sizzling in everybody's head until the end of the season. That is 100 goals to score this season, meaning 4 a game.

And of course securing our 2nd title in a row, the 3rd in 4 years. But that was already obvious, no?

So that is how we found ourselves, on the first Saturday of September 2014, in the familiar surroundings of our home ground dressing room. Strengthened by a very comfortable win against the English enemies a week before and by the, rather exceptional, appraising speech by McGrath Sen. we hit the pitch to destroy Tourrinnois FC.

Now, a lot of things can be said about our first half but if you just can't give two good passes in a row you're not likely to score a lot of goals. Was it because of Jean's nervousness' if he was able to lift up his game from La Lorraine to RBBFC level? Did J5 not party hard enough in Etnic on Friday eve…? Did Tommy collapse under the 4 goals/game pressure… No idea but the result was shit and half time arrived with a score of 0-0.

McGrath Sen, searching his mind why he "pied-de-stalled” us before the game, dropped the coaching level back to "first idea is the best” and "keep it simple”. Those words proved to be the trigger finger of the loaded gun that RBBFC 1 is well known to be. One minute into the second half and BOOM, 1-0 for the good guys! A fast break from us ended with a chip cross by Tommy, nicely put against Tourrinnois' nets by our Welshman. Apart from a small hick up, three opponents rushed to our goal and equalised, we continued to lift our game to an acceptable level. The alcohol level in Steve's body finally vaporised and enabled him to score the 2-1. Their goaly decided to switch camps and offered us the 3-1 for free. And before we knew it, Tommy and Micky put the 5-1 on the scoring board. Mission accomplished captain!

Man of Match went to your reporter thanks to some theatrical saves in the first half. And over some beers, we all wondered how we survived summer without "the best day of the week”.
