After 4 convincing wins, RBBFC knew that the match against LXG Cinquintenaire would be the first serious test. For this match captain Nils McGrath decided to try a new system, the 3-5-2 formation was changed for a more attacking system, 3-4-3. The idea of the new system was to play more attacking football and to score more goals. In Rosiére at 14:00 RBBFC started with Andy F in the goal, Johny, Nils and Dex in defence, Jean, Richard, Steve and Hjalte in the middle and Martin, Micky and Thomas up front. Andy H, Sylvain, Didi and Dries were placed on the bench.

After the warm-up and peptalk from coach John McGrath the whites started the game with attacking intentions, however after 10 minutes it was clear that this game would not be an easy one. LXG Cinquintenaire gave RBBFC very little space and sometimes came out with sharp counters, luckily the defenders of RBBFC were focused and won their personal duels in the back so LXG Cinquintenaire could not do serious damage. The first half didn’t had a lot of highlights apart from a shot from distance of Hjalte and an in swinging corner of Richard which hit the crossbar.

Coach John McGrath noticed that RBBFC had difficulties in finding the mechanics in the new system, so while Micky suffered from a serious injury, John decided to change the system back to the usual 3-5-2. The referee whistled for half time with the score of 0-0. One substitute during the break, Dries came in for Thomas.

In the second half RBBFC got more control of the match and made some very fast moves towards the opponent’s goal, this resulted in the first big opportunity of the match, Dries went through on the right side of the pitch and saw his opportunity from a difficult angle, the goalkeeper had problems in catching the ball, which resulted in a big opportunity for Richard in the rebound, but the goalkeeper saved it. The pressure on LXG Cinquintenaire’s goal became bigger and bigger but the score was still 0-0 halfway the second half. This changed a quarter before the final whistle. One of Andy’s perfect far kicks came in Mickey’s feet who controlled the ball and gave it on the right side to Dries, who saw Hjalte coming into the box and delivered a good cross. Hjalte didn’t hesitate and left the keeper chanceless with a perfect header.

LXG Cinquintenaire increased the pressure on the goal of RBBFC in search for the equalizer, for this reason there was more space for RBBFC in front, which resulted in some good counter attacks. RBBFC got one good chance to increase the lead but Steve was unfortunate in his finish.

After a thrilling final stage of the match, RBBFC kept their lead and the fifth win in a row was a fact, this means RBBFC still leads in the competition and is on its way for its next championship!
