For our first game/test of the season, we were up against an ex-Division 1 squad, New Inn FC. We could feel in El Capitano’s pre-match speech that he wasn’t sure if we were up to the challenge…Legs were shaking, minds were doubting… And to make it even more dramatic, it was raining as hell!

But as soon as the game started, all concerns disappeared, THE GAME HAS BEGUN!! The first 15 minutes were intense and the British pressure was unbearable for New Inn. The Ref was too busy sending a player to the bench for leg warmers being of a slightly different color than his shorts, and didn’t see any brutal fouls committed by both teams (especially by our very own Tarik/Adrian A.K.A Rottweiler/Pitbull).

The intense situation was deblocked by a superb counter-attack launched by Lolo and then Erwin who, at the moment he was going to face the keeper and being caught up by the last defender, had the "vista” to pass a subtile through ball to his favorite striker, Charlie Deschamps. The latter calmly waited for the keeper to plunge in the dirt to simply dribble him and push the ball into the net, (what a striker! ;) )

Unfortunately, as soon as we scored, New Inn started to wake up… And with a little bit of pressure and a huge load of luck, they were able to equalize thanks to a wonderstrike! the player, to this day, has no idea how he did it. (Note: if someone has slow-motion footage of Marc looking at the ball as it goes directly in the top-right corner, please share it to the team!). In all seriousness, nothing could have been done to avoid this goal…

However this was not enough to raise panic in the RBBFC formation. We were quickly able to take the lead again thanks to a remarkable team play concluded by Horacio, with a lovely finish!

The score will not change until the end of the game, although the second half was full of opportunities for RBBFC... New Inn was nowhere to be seen and the British supremacy was indisputable. To be noted the great effort furnished by the whole team with special mention to newcomer Simone as a ferocious tackling defender, Daniele the revelation as a right-back and the new couple in town, the hounds Tarik and Adrian!!
