Second defeat of the season in Rosieres for RBBFC2

2nd Team Correspondent

Line-up: Puig, Yugueros, Thuan, Rossi, Pellegry, Si M'hammed, Skoniezki, McGirr, Henriquez, Lambers, Mineo / Subs: Legere, Pereira, Golightly

After a week spent exchanging weather forecasts and commenting on the accuracy of each other weather forecast apps, Saturday finally arrived. Before the kick-off, two of the unavailable players gave their contribution to keep the team focused on the game: Guarnaccia circulated some interesting (and elegant) videos to the team while Claudino shared with RBBFC2 how life can be tough in Rio in February.

Puig announced the line-up and gave instructions to the team. It was not an easy task given the number of players that could not make it to the game. Besides the above-mentioned gentlemen, the following players could not be part of the battle: "El Jefecito” Vazquez, "El Cuchu” Ricketts, "the Butcher” Bon, Alfredinho, James "the Child” Philpot, Sam "Boite a bang", the "Polizei" Erwin and Charlie "On Fire” Deschamps.

The game started as foreseen by Puig: Entente keeping ball control but unable to create any concrete concerns to RBBFC2 thanks to the excellent job done by the two pitbulls Skoniezki and Si M'hammed in containing the opponent midfielders. RBBFC2 played patiently and being aware that McGirr would enlighten the game at the first opportunity. Here we go: after 15 minutes from the start a good combination between Pellegry and Henriquez on the left freed up McGirr which found himself in front of the opponent goalkeeper. Unfortunately the goalkeeper was in his lucky day and made an amazing save allowing his team to keep the score to 0-0. After this, the game went on with Entente keeping ball possession and control of the midfield and RBBFC2 defending with order and trying to be dangerous with counter-attacks developed on the right wing by "Cafu’” Yugueros and Speedy Mineo. However, at ten minutes from the end of the first half Entente managed to score by taking advantage of a wrong pass in the midfield (caused by the terrible pitch) that triggered an extremely fast counter-attack: bang, RBBFC down 1-0. Not much happened in the following 10 minutes and the teams finished the first half with the score unchanged.

Puig spent the break trying to remember what he wanted to say to the team. After two/three attempts finally he made it and in the first minutes of the second half RBBFC2 put in practice his indications. From a 433 the team moved to a more offensive 352. Entente became soon concerned about RBBFC2’s strikers and a super-inspired Legere. Lambers caused a headache to the two central defenders with his dribbles and movements while Mineo was free to run at 110kmh on every ball. One of these runs made by Mineo led RBBFC2 to its main chance to equalize: Mineo passed two opponents on the right wing before entering the box, dribbling another opponent and passing the ball to Lambers. What happened next remains a mystery: the ball hit an undefined number of legs before getting back to Mineo’s feet which, with a very fast touch, scored the 1-1. A second before RBBFC2 started celebrating the referee called an offside. Too bad. The rest of the second half continued with the Whites pushing the opponents in their midfield without, however, being able to create clear chances to score. Some good combinations made by Pereira and Golightly pushed Entente further back in their box, but still not enough to equalize. A couple of timely tackles by Puig and Thuan allowed the home team not to conceive any further goals.

RBBFC2 lost the game against a very good and well organized team that deserves a higher position on the table. To be noted that Entente’s coach/delegue/menthor/motivator/supporter/hooligan celebrated the victory in a very classy way by quietly pointing out to the rest of the world that her team "sont les meilleurs!!!!!”. For the records: at the end of the game a very interesting discussion on soccer tactics took place between El Capitano and Entente’s delegue.

The defeat will not reduce RBBFC2’s ambition to win the league. The parallel top-of-the-league’s defeat will help the team to keep the spirit up and to win the next games. Forza, cazzo!!!!
