After a resounding victory away at Tourinnois the previous week and a strong week of training things were looking good for the fixture against early leaders Ambiance. Sadly, our momentum would be temporarily halted with a narrow defeat.

The match started off relatively well for RBBFC. First off a long throw in from the left was flicked on and found it's way to Hodgson at the back post who swept in a left foot volley. Only for the ref to disallow the goal for a dubious push in the build up. Shortly after, a chipped ball put Daniel through with the keeper but he was unfortunate not to get a clean connection and the ball fell agonisingly wide.

The match then swung heavily in Auderghem's favour when the ref awarded them a penalty. A ball was played into the box and, with the Ambiance player moving across goal Kev's challenge was judged by the ref to be worthy of a penalty. The spot kick was confidently dispatched past Kris.

The rest of the first half saw RBBFC working hard to probe without any real end product. Shin came on for Sylvain at the half to add some trickery up front.

The second half saw Ambiance sit back and defend deep. As their stats suggest they are strong defensively and their captain, at centre half, was winning the majority of balls we sent his way. However, RBBFC did manage to create some strong opportunities and probably should have grabbed an equaliser. A powerful cross from Dries on the left was met by Rich a few yards out. The welshman was unable to get a clean connection and their keeper was a relieved man to make the save.

5 minutes from the end Jean's long throw was met by Nils whose header was saved well by their keeper. The ball dropped back out and it looked for all the world like Nils would be able to smash home. Sadly the ball was just out of reach and between him and Daniel they were unable to get the ball over the line. Agonising.

With RBBFC frantically searching for the equaliser in the last few seconds the ball rolled across to Shin at the second post who had half the goal at his mercy. His powerful shot flew just over the ball to the anguish of the players and supporters alike.

The ref blew his whistle and a frustrating afternoon came to a close. We didn't play to the level we are capable of but none the less created enough chances to take something from the game.

We have been working hard at training and need to keep the faith. Our efforts will be rewarded as we move in to 3 critical fixtures against the strongest teams in the league. We are fit and we have the talent. We will come good. Next up is a mouth watering fixture against last years champs, the Portuguese.
