Good football deserved more goals (and fewer cards).

PRE-GAME:
Lovely Saturday afternoon started off with "beautiful hair” not respecting any traffic laws and turning in the middle of the street (500 EUR fine at least) like he is on a promenade in Monaco with a luxury car causing me and alike to check our emails/dodgy WhatsApp msg’s, etc. So, 10min later, I am seeing the usual pre-game warm up, standard ball loving trio passing and trying to dribble in their work shoes. On the other hand a particular nicotine inhaling warm-up done by the familiar suspects, lovely hair checking the state of his rib with Shilton shooting and captain checking certain players’ eyes for any signs of hangover and thinking about what to say during team talk. Same as James, I somehow have a short term memory for such things but I do recall him mentioning a victory is what we need.
1st half:
Immediate pressing on the LTC side resulted in a few semi-chances but unfortunately some of us (read: me, Luka) are still in their flip flops. Therefore, ruined opportunities that were promising more and definitely something better than a shitty wanna be crosses that ended up on the 16m box. Opponents had lots of troubles getting over the centre half in the first 20-25min of the first half were we have seen some very nice football played by all RBBFC players and creating opportunities from both flanks with Joaquin (aka Jake) and James running down towards the corner and occasionally breaking in towards the goal. One such opportunity led to a goal when James, I think took the ball from a defender or just passed to Luka who waits for a few seconds while Hodgetron reaches the 16m box, he then passes the ball and then 30+ supporters witnessed a routine shot from some 12-13m straight into top right corner of the goal (Luca Toni style, aged 35). Goalkeeper was helpless! We then concluded the half time with one more semi chance while the opponents started pushing forwards and RBBFC players starting to commit some "serious” fouls. I think they might have a shot on goal before the half time but all stuck to the stickiest hands of them all.
2nd half:
Second half under way with the same starting eleven. Similar tough approach as in the first half resulted in opponents not creating and serious chance until 10min into the second half when they played well through the middle and on the side but we cleared. Minne and Kellerman came in from the bench for Jake and Lachia. This brought in some long throws and terribly missed sprints from the attacking gazelle with DE license plate. Game started to be serious with RBBFC committing lots of fouls and gathering yellow cards (Lamarra, Donner, McGeehan…). However, with the constant complaining of particular NEW persona non grata (PNG; in the absence of the Greek guy) we have made a few decent chances when James nicely opened up the right side and had 2-3 opportunities to close this game but unfortunately due to posts and deflections we didn’t score. One of those attacking opportunities led to a knee kick that you usually see around 2am in a dodgy ally or on martial arts TV channel but it actually came from our own Finnish "youngster” showcasing what he does in his own free time while not discussing politics or cycling to training. Boom, direct hit to the arcade of LTC goalie (must be Polish, what a speedy recovery). To cut the story short…sorry! One more important point, above mentioned PNG got a red car for his nasty French allowing us to finish this game in a more relaxed manner.
Well done everyone! Nicely played!
Good luck next weekend when we are hosting Choule Auderghem at 14:00 on our home ground in Rosieres.
