Disappointment at home again.
For the 4th match of the season, RBBFC plays against Charles Quint FC, a team that there is not that much to say about, mostly because the author had never heard about them. Full of trust after the last win 5-2, RBBFC is ready to show it on their own pitch, with a wonderful weather that makes you think you’re at the Bahamas Rosière City Beach.
The only thing is RBBFC squad is composed by only 11 players , struggling to find people that are on family duties, injured, stuck in an after party, or those who left their ID at their work office in Antwerp.
On their field at Rosière, RBBFC squad plays a classic 3-5-2, with a solid goalkeeper, Pablo, who hadn’t been playing keeper for the last 15 years.
The strong defense, also called "the wall of Rosière”, enjoys the transfer season, bringing the new player Christos on the right side.
On the midfield, we have Nel’s power, the technique of Karim, Tim’s wisdom, Will’s speed, and Gary’s hangover.
This squad is well completed by Salva and Sjoerd up-front.
First Period:
We can see a very good start of RBBFC players, who seem strongly focused on the game, and put the ball on the floor, as they know how to do.
Gary, well served by Karim on his left wing, manages to get past the first defender at the edge of the box, then makes a pinpoint pass back to Karim, who puts a bit too much conviction in his shot, which could be compared to a perfect 3-points for a rugby player.
After regaining possession of the ball in the midfield, Sjoerd is well served after a nice run from the center to the left side, and after a few remarkable tricks, does a good lobbed pass in the penalty point shot by Salva, well stopped by the keeper.
The first period is clearly dominated by RBBFC, playing good simple football. The whole team can enjoy the technique of its 3 midfielders to control the ball, make the other run away, and play their own football.
RBBFC has clearly a few strong opportunities to score could let them kill the game and be safe for the time left until the end.
Half time
During the first 15 minutes, RBBFC doesn’t manage to get back in the game, while Charles Quint FC starts to gain more confidence, and gets a higher ball possession, which leads to few tangible opportunities.
Further to a long ball from the Charles Quint’s defense, the striker makes the difference and wins his face to face opposing him to the RBBFC keeper.
Strong shot from outside the box well countered by Kevin, the wall on the goal line, that avoids Charles Quint FC to make to break.
After another long ball from the defense, the referee failed to see that the striker was 5 meters offside, despite the fact that RBBFC coach telling him in such a friendly way.
RBBFC players are kind of disappointed about this unfair situation as it the immense home crowd. Now is the time to show that RBBFC can enjoy the hardcore training session done by Karim. As Leonidas said in The 300 movie "Tonight WE DINE IN HELL”
Following those actions, few other very interesting free-kicks for RBBFC won’t unblock this situation either. At the end of the match, Salva receives a good ball between the 2 defenders, after a quick header, he gives a great ball in the box, kicked by Sjeord that gets close by the post.
RBBFC keep on pushing during the last 10 minutes but doesn’t manage to open the score.
