RBBFC melts as the match goes on and concedes a late equalizer preventing the chase of the top spot

Line-up: Puig, Rossi, Bon, Guarnaccia (Manfellotto), Thieffry (Pellegry), Lo Presti, Pereira (Mineo), Belalij, Henriquez (Godefroid), Deschamps, Pryce;

Rosières, day-game 9.

After a home defeat against direct competitors last week at home, expectations were high to get back on the winning path.

With that in mind everyone geared up as good as they could for the pre-game: all kind of lotions, potions and creams, new boots, new studs and respective utensils. No one was willing to leave it down to the details.

Capitano keeping the usual 50-carat diamond shape in the middle with Andrea having the though job of replacing El Gringo Stefan, who has been coerced to take a day off for reflexion. Horacito on the tip, with Nuno and Mus on the right and left, respectively. On the defence Simone was flippered from left to right (legend says he used to play in center back in Austria) with Ben making his debut for the team on the left, Bonbon and Massi center. Up front killers duology, Ale Alessandro and Charlie Carlito.

Whites started on the good side. Playing a decent football, controlling the pace and the game. Not yet the football that we aim to, but allowed us to build up our game and eventually score a goal: Ale, Alessandro in one of his incursions on the left saw Nuno on the loose on the right hand side to whom he delivers a creamy pass: first touch was a bit off but second touch was right on. 1-0 for the good guys.

Meanwhile, small downside on the left back, with Ben getting a hopefully small injury, meaning it was time for legendary Pellegry to go on the pitch. All this, together with a couple of nasty faults from JP players, namely on Simone, were not enough to shake RBBFC as we kept playing our steady football with a couple of chances coming from the feet of Ale and Carlito after good connections by Horacito. Andrea was making El Gringo proud, keeping our own half nice and neat. Ball was coming round from the defenders allowing to keep control on the midfield.

But, and sadly there is a big but on this history, whites forgot to play football for what looked like an eternity. It was in one of these balls that were bouncing once too much around our box that a goal came from one JP’s guys’ header. In fact, the only moment worthy of note was Bonbon’s new Yoga position, fully justifying his absence to training on Mondays: after previous week’s Cuddly Koalamove,this week we had the privilege to assist to the Languid Leopardmove. Both very effective on keeping the opponents at ease.

El capitano obviously not happy with the situation injected some fresh legs in the match with Guido, Jimmy and Daniele coming from Massi, Horacito and Nuno. Not long after, the subs effect was starting to materialize, especially with Mineo’s dangerously growing incursions on the right.

Unfortunately, we woke up a bit too late, together with the feeling that the referee had some place better to be so he cut us off a couple of precious minutes, made that our comeback on the winning side wasn’t possible anymore.

Frustration was visible straight away in the pitch and in the dressing room. Nothing that a couple of beers at Rosieres can’t handle.

Vamos squadra!
