Another Saturday, another match.

RBBFC got to Rosières ready to get themselves an early Christmas gift with three points but would eventually have to settle for just one.

The team was short this weekend and help from the 1st and 3rd teams was very much welcome. After the kick-off, the good boys immediately took control of the game despite some timid attempts from Curtis to gain possession. A combination on the right flank coupled with a good run from Godefroid nearly brought RBBFC ahead. Similar situations arose shortly afterwards with danger mostly stemming from corners scooped in by Legere and good but innocuous combinations involving our forwards.

All seemed under control until Curtis improvised a sudden counterattack. The ball went over the defence, Bon tried to intercept the forward’s run but the guy was too quick. He went one-on-one against El Capitano and cold-bloodedly placed the ball in the back of the net, helped by the far post. 0-1 and end of the first half shortly after.

Heads up and off we go again. During the second half, RBBFC tried harder to produce some football and chances. Their attempt turned into complete domination, leaving the opponent team defending with almost 10 players behind the ball line.

RBBFC’s difficulty in scoring goals was however apparent again. Despite attacking relentlessly, the clearest chances came from corners. And it was from a corner that Lo Presti smashed the ball into the net for a much-needed draw. Substitutions brought fresh stamina in the midfield with Tamarzist and Thieffry. RBBFC’s hunger for victory was clear as ferocious tackles occurred in the midfield. Another chance was created with a good combination on the left flank between Tamarzist, Lo Presti and Thieffry and a long-distance shot by Lo Presti, that was surprisingly saved by the keeper.

RBBFC’s offensive thrust left its defence somewhat vulnerable to counterattacks but none of them was truly dangerous for Capitano’s goal.

Despite all the efforts, the match would eventually end with a draw. After a dreadful streak of defeats, RBBFC collected 4 points in 2 matches. Not enough but on the path to recovery.
