Spring returned to Brussels at least shortly as RBB faced British United at home, only a week after the previous round was played in Arctic conditions. With the British Cup and a good position in the league ahead of the final two games up for grabs, plenty was at stake.

RBB got the start to the game it needed, as Richard found Daniel with a perfectly placed through ball. Daniel put his recent inefficiency to the side for a moment and whisked the ball past the keeper with Jari Litmanen-like precision (kids or Americans, just google the name), 1–0.

British United struggled to keep the ball out of their half, and it wasn't long before Daniel was on the run again, this time turning and finding a wildly screaming James for the backward pass just outside the box – our less racist John Terry stayed true to his name as he powered the ball into the bottom left corner, without otherwise insulting the non-British away team keeper, 2–0.

Several other noteworthy incidents in the first half included continuous complaints about the air pressure in the match balls. Despite these dramatic moments, everyone survived it to half time safe and sound, with RBB sporting a two-goal lead.

In the second half, British United tried to make their way into the game, but did not come closer than a few free kicks just outside the box. These caused no big headache for Kris and the back three, who also dealt very professionally with any crosses from the away team. Nils played up front for a change and brought a lot of composure and ball control to the otherwise slightly erratic offensive line.

With the midfield connecting well with wingers James and Joaquin, there was going to be no stopping RBB today. James had a goal disallowed in the first half and was unlucky to only hit the post with a cracker in the second half.

Despite the RBB dominance, 2–0 stayed on the (figurative) scoreboard for some time in the second half, with the away side still in the game, at least in theory. The third goal for RBB was therefore relief when it finally came: Sylvain was lurking outside the box and found a loose ball from a cross/corner (Luka might remember), then hammering in 3–0 with a powerful shot.

This meant that RBB could relax a bit, and there should have probably been a least a few more goals, but in the end it was only Richard who managed to wiggle his way through the United defense and finalize the score at 4–0.

Post-match highlights included a terribly sung 'The Gambler', the sun, a solid British Cup speech by Mike accompanied with even better cava, and Daniel beating Nils in the Nordic man of the match-tiebreaker.
