Windy/stormy day, it is derby day ! FC Irlande is coming to RBBFC’s Fortress !
They have nothing to win or lose in the championship but they have their full team with an only goal, beat us !
RBBFC needs the win.
The Irish are up for the battle; we are not as good as foreseen but the 1st half was 50-50 in the battle.
RBBFC defence is stopping all their attacks, long balls and also the wind against.
Some corners, some free-kicks but not even a half chance, both side.
HALF TIME, we have to increase our level, talk more, win more challenges and create chances, one goal can be enough…
RBBFC began the 2nd Half with much better intentions.
On a good move on the left, Nils found Sioux who delivered a great cross to the penalty spot. Maarten won his challenge but his wonderful header was saved by an incredible reflex from the Irish goalie.
Corner. Wind with us.
Captain Richard has made a bet before the game. I can confirm he won it.
He delivered a perfect corner straight into the net thanks to the wind. It was 100% foreseen, no doubt about it.
RBBFC organisation was good and we could easy handleevery green movement.
Daniel came in.
Thanks to some good movement on the sides, RBBFC created 2 good one-o-one, but both saved by the keeper.
Kevin and Joaquin came in.
7 minutes to go. The Irish put the ball into our box. With a lot of luck the ball passed through some legs and arrived to their vice-captain. He finished it easily. 1-1. Everything to begin again. 6 minutes to go.
Each game until the end. Game after game, but mentally, you have to be strong. No regrets.
Corner. 2nd post, Nils head it back, Daniel head it again. Over the crossbar. 4 minutes to go.
Foul. Free-kick for RBBFC. Ball into the box, deflected to the right side. Good challenge from Kevin and Maarten. Kevin took the ball,, pushed it forward, all the Irish defence went up…too late, they are out of position.
Kevin crossed it perfectly : nice and low. Jean, clearly onside, extended his left leg between two defenders and gave the lead again to the good guys. 2-1.
2 minutes to go.
The last two chances were for RBBFC again, but it stayed 2-1.
A lot of emotions, old boys supporting us were close from a heart attack, but it is also why we are playing that kind of game.
30 games unbeaten in a row, still in the title race.
Each game, until the end. Game after game. No regrets.
Win and goals dedicated to Bianca (Best excuse for not coming to play for DEX) and the next babies who will come in the next months !
