Second in the league with 2 points behind, we face Nivellois Aclois at home before a series of 3 away games, followed by the last game of the season at Rosières. The objective is simple: take the 3 points and hope for a mistake of the first team, Breu United, who face this weekend the 3rdteam, Omnisport Bierges.

After the usual 30min motivating speech by Gav, we have a few minutes left to warm up. The match begins with a great composition (classical 4-5-1) with a huge bench to help us. Thanks again Victor to agree to play as a keeper.

The match is well engaged by 4ZA with a great circulation of the ball. The game is under control. The first opportunities arise and the first goal follows. Gavin centers from the defence towards the central rectangle and a defender deviated it. The goalkeeper doesn’t see it coming and he is beaten: 1-0. There is no doubt that Gavin counted this goal in his club stats. Nevertheless, I would like to raise the official rule to honor the referee of the day. Indeed, this old and kind referee, that we all enjoyed immensely, loved to stop the game in order to give us a lecture on a soccer rules. The official rule says that if the defender who deflects the ball influences the ball enough to prevent his goalkeeper from stopping it, the goal is awarded to the defender. Not sure that Gav deserves this goal … Peet and Flambers, in a burst of humility, as usual, confirm the domination of 4ZA before the half-time: 3-0.

The second half is much more difficult. With the wind in front, the situation is complicated and our game is not up to our level. Fortunately, the opposition does not show their best game either. Different changes at the beginning of the second half are then made to straighten our level :

And it works! Despite two goals conceded, one on a corner and another on a bad exit of defence, Seb, Christos and Selim finish the job. Final score : 6-2. I don’t know if I have to say it because it’s obvious: Selim got his traditional yellow for, as usual, a stupid reason. This week, it is for wearing a bracelet. In conclusion, a good result despite a difficult second half and a good preparation for next week. During the third half, we learn that Breu United has drawn! We are back in the race for the title. We just have to win against them the next week.
