With the Christmas break approaching, RBBFC is still unbeaten after 9 wins and 2 draws. Our opponent are second with 7 point behind before this game with one of the best defence in the league.

We start the game in a good way with high pressure and good ball movement. But our opponents manage to counter our tactics and get the ball out of the back and create some chances.

A good cross at the back post arrives at Paul's feet but he doesn't score. Maybe he was watching too much Calum Wilson compilations before the game, who knows?

LTC manage to get into our box, their striker tries to cross but it turns into a cross-shot, luckily captain Tarik was there to save it over on the line. I am glad that ABSSA has not yet integrated the goal line technology system.

After a lost ball in the middle, the opponents pass on our left side, send a cross to the ground for their striker and he ends up in the goal over the head of Kris.

RBBFC 0 – 1 LTC

It’s not the first time that we conceded the first goal in a game, we know what we are capable of, and this goal was not going to make us lose confidence.

RBFFC wasn’t able to create more chances but LTC did. Their winger gets a nice through pass that shoots first time. Martijn saved it on the line with a great tackle.

Last action before half time, Robin, Paul and Rich combine perfectly to throw Spencer deep. We were waiting for a low cross to try and get back into the game. However, he was already thinking about the future defeat of the USA in the World Cup, he puts his cross? His shot? Into the fence.

At the start of the second half, a dodgy through ball between Tarik and Kris was perfectly judged by their striker, he dribbled past Kris and into the empty net.

RBBFC 0 – 2 LTC

First time of the season that we are losing by 2 goals, we start to hear the opponents say "it's over, they're done". The words of someone who has never experienced a match against RBBFC.

Stoffe "Thanos” goes in for Tarik and Maarten for Seb.

John switches to a 3-4-3 formation to go for it. Things are getting exciting, LTC is overwhelmed defensively. Attacks are coming from all sides, from free kicks even from throw in ... But what is the specialty of the champions? The Welshman's corner at the far post with his left foot. Nils heads it to Thanos in the middle of the box who smashes it into the back of the net.

RBBFC 1 – 2 LTC

20 minutes to go, we continue to attack non-stop, defeat is not allowed in the fortress of Rosieres.

Once again we have the opportunity to score from a corner but Rich decide to cross one of the worst corner ever but fortunately the defender gave him a second chance. Our Joe Allen put it once again at the far post, where Martijn, with a perfect timing score a header.

RBBFC 2 - 2 LTC

His best body part to play football this weekend, after a 2% pass accuracy and 0% long balls completed. A certain John McGrath was biting a ball on the side of the pitch to prevent himself from insulting the Dutchman.

When we talk about accuracy, we automatically think of Robin. Whether it's passing or shooting from long distance, although the result is different. He manages to send the ball into the neighbouring town of Rosieres with his special shot.

Even if RBBFC tried everything to score the 3-2 they did not succeed. The game ends on a fair 2-2.

The thing to remember about this game is not the point we got against our runners-up, but the fact that none of the players gave up and that all of us together carried ourselves to the top. This is an asset that no other ABSSA club has and must have hurt our opponent mentally.

I’m glad that we are still invincible, still top of the league with 7 points ahead, still enjoying every weekend with you boys (even though it’s too cold for me).

TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!
